- Pampoenkraal Plaas kringtelevisiekameras vertel ware verhaal
< Previous Article Next Article >

Blessing spreads his wings 1/1 Share CONTENT SUPPLIED 11 August 2020 Blessing Bongani Sibande, or better known as Mr. NPSS, who was the first person to meet at the entrance, the promoter and marketer of NPSS on social media, and in some instances also a bodyguard, spread his wings. Blesssing will be missed at NPSS, his smile, friendliness and unfaltering willingness to help. Blessing Bongani Sibande, or better known as Mr. NPSS, who was the first person to meet at the entrance, the promoter and marketer of NPSS on social media, and in some instances also a bodyguard, spread his wings. Blesssing will be missed at NPSS, his smile, friendliness and unfaltering willingness to help. On Friday, 7 August, Blessing greeted the school with this speech: “Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I wish to greet the Principal, Ms. L Geoghegan, of which I speak through her. Special greetings also to the SGB, educators, learners, all NPSS staff, parents and guardians. It is with sadness I have to leave the school, as I am grabbing a life changing opportunity. It has not been an easy decision to make, but through love, support and the best advice, I had to make a decision. Since I started in October 2016, I have had the opportunity to grow professionally, and learnt a lot for personal development. I thank the entire NPSS family for such love and warm hands. I believe we had great encounters with each other, and we have managed to drive the vehicle forward. Thank you to the office of the Principal for such great leadership and endless opportunities. As it is Women's Month, we continue to make a clarion call that we want more women in leadership or top positions. I thank you all, and wish the school the best there is.” The Principal of the school, Ms. L Geoghegan, and the staff of NPSS left the following letter for Blessing: “It is with mixed feelings that I have to inform you of a legend jumping the NPSS ship. Mr. Blessing Sibande is leaving us on Friday, for greener pastures. In so many ways over the past 4 years, Blessing has been the face of our school, the first person to meet at the entrance, the promoter and marketer of NPSS on social media and in some instances also a bodyguard. It has been wonderful working with such an energetic and optimistic “influencer”, and observing how he has grown and developed. Your professionalism and effective work ethnics will be missed, Mr Sibande. But we also know that you are meant for greater and bigger things in life. We wish you only the very best with all your future endeavors, and know that you will excel in your new work environment. Hamba kahle.” Blessing will be moving to Gert Sibande's TVET college in Evander. He will work at the Centre for Entrepreneurship as a rapid incubator. “It has been a great experience working at NPSS, and I am excited to work with the youth, assisting them to make good choices when it comes to the great responsibility of their future,” Blessing concluded. < Previous Article Next Article >

SASSA launches online application portal 1/2 Share GK CRONJE 29 September 2020 A receipt will be generated when the application is completed. Supporting documents that are attached must be certified by a Commissioner of Oath. The agency is currently reviewing its system, and thereafter the other grants will also be added to the portal. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) launched a pilot programme, entailing a self-service portal that can be used on both computers and mobile devices. According to SASSA, the turnaround time is 10 days, provided the candidate supplies all the stipulated documents linked to the application such as identity documents of applicant and spouse’s as well as banking details, among others. At this time, the project will cover Child Support, Older Persons and Foster Child grants. SASSA stated that this pilot will provide much-needed relief to grant applicants, as it will save them the inconvenience of standing in queues at SASSA offices. According to the agency, the added advantage is that the convenience of online applications eliminates the risk of being infected with the COVID-19 virus. The agency may require documents supporting a change of circumstances such as payment method, banking details and address. The portal also provides updates on the status of the application. To access this service, applicants need to have an e-mail address to sign up, and to be able to log in for further services. Feedback will be sent via e-mail or through an SMS for those who do not have e-mail addresses. A receipt will be generated when the application is completed. Supporting documents that are attached must be certified by a Commissioner of Oath. The agency is currently reviewing its system, and thereafter the other grants will also be added to the portal. Qualifying applications can be lodged on https://services.sassa.gov.za . < Previous Article Next Article >

< Previous Article Next Article >
- Cricket stalwart Lizelle Lee announces retirement
Cricket stalwart Lizelle Lee announces retirement 1/1 Share Supplied Content 12 July 2022 Momentum Proteas batter, Lizelle Lee has announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket with immediate effect. Momentum Proteas batter, Lizelle Lee has announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket with immediate effect. This news comes ahead of the Proteas Women’s three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against England, getting underway from Monday, 11 July in Northampton. The Ermelo-born 30-year-old made her international bow for South Africa in 2013 during the inbound tour against Bangladesh, debuting in T20 International (T20I) cricket at her home ground in Potchefstroom before receiving her first cap in One-Day International (ODI) cricket a week later. In the 50-over game, the opening batter amassed 3 315 runs in 100 matches, including 23 half-centuries and three centuries with a career-best score of 132 not out against India in Lucknow in March last year. In the shorter format, Lee played 82 games for the green and gold, recording 1 896 runs, while notching up 13 fifties and one hundred against Thailand in 2020, which made her only the second South African woman to reach triple figures in T20Is. The Senwes Dragons star leaves the international stage in first place on the runs-scorer’s list in T20I cricket for South Africa, while she only comes second to the recently retired Mignon du Preez in the One-Day format. Lee’s statement is as follows: “It is with a lot of mixed emotions that I announce my retirement from international cricket. From a very young age, I have lived cricket and wanted to represent my country at the highest level. Over the past 8 years I was able to live that dream and I feel I have given everything I could to the Proteas. I feel that I am ready for the next phase in my career and will continue to play domestic T20 cricket around the world. It has been an incredible journey and it would not have been possible without everyone who has supported me during my international career. I want to thank my family, especially my wife Tanja for all the sacrifices they have made for me to live out my dream to represent my country. Thank you to CSA, SACA and all stakeholders involved for the opportunities and support you afforded me to make my dreams of playing for the Proteas come true. My fellow Proteas teammates, thank you for the wonderful memories we have made together. You have made this journey incredible, and I could not have done this without you. I will always be supporting you; we will always be rising together. Lastly to my fans, I am the person I am because of the love and support you have given me throughout my international career. I look forward to continuing this journey with you in the different leagues around the world,” she concluded. “It is with great sadness that we have to bid farewell to a titan of South African cricket at a relatively young age, however we wholeheartedly respect the individual’s decision and her desire to move onto the next chapter of her playing career. Lizelle has given this nation countless memorable moments on the field of play, most notably in 2021 when she was leading from the front with the bat towards being named the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in an effort to help South Africa soar to second place on the ICC ODI Rankings. We wish her and her young family nothing but the best from here onwards,” the Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe, commented. Pholetsi Moseki, Cricket South Africa (CSA) Chief Executive Officer said: “On behalf of Cricket South Africa (CSA), I’d like to thank Lizelle for her more than eight years of service for the Proteas and wish her all the very best for all her future endeavours, including her ongoing domestic career at home and all around the world. Her explosive batting and her all-round talents at the highest level of the game will be sorely missed by all in the international cricketing fraternity and by the South African public. The legacy she has left behind will be felt for many a year yet,” Moseki concluded. - Cricket South Africa Corporate Communications < Previous Article Next Article >

< Previous Article Next Article >
- MLM in hot seat over water pollution
MLM in hot seat over water pollution 1/4 Share Content Supplied 30 August 2022 Based on the Green Drop report for 2022, seven (7) municipalities in the province scored less than 30%. The Democratic Alliance (DA) has asked the Green Scorpions to intervene as Mpumalanga local municipalities are failing to provide proper wastewater and sewage disposal. This exposes residents to an environment that is harmful to their health. During the latest Green Drop assessment for Mpumalanga, it was noted that 43% of the province's wastewater systems were deemed to be in a critical state, and that only 6 out of the 76 systems in the province were operating well above capacity. The above is completely unacceptable, given the constant land and freshwater pollution in municipalities such as Lekwa, Thaba Chweu, Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme and Msukaligwa Local Municipalities. The DA finds it extremely concerning that of the 118 directives issued by the Department of Water and Sanitation, Mpumalanga was issued with the highest number in the country at 24. During the 2022 analysis of wastewater systems in the province, no wastewater system scored the minimum of 90% needed. On compliance, Mpumalanga scored 19% on microbiological compliance, 25% on chemical compliance and 34% on physical compliance. Based on the Green Drop report for 2022, seven (7) municipalities in the province scored less than 30%. Bushbuckridge is rated at 24%, as wastewater systems in Dwarsloop, Maviljan, Tintswalo, Mkhulu and Tulamahashe were reported to be in a critical state. Dr Pixley Ka Isaka Seme was rated at 22%, as all 5 waste water treatment systems are in a critical state. Lekwa was rated at 17%, as both water treatment systems are in a critical state. Msukaligwa was also rated at 17%, as all 7 waste water systems were reported to be in a critical state, Chief Albert Luthuli was rated at 11%, as all 5 waste water systems were in a critical state, Thaba Chweu was rated at 10%, and Dipaleseng scored a mere 4%. Given the above, the DA has written to the Green Scorpions, requesting that they investigate pollution of the land and fresh water reserves in the above mentioned municipalities, and to ensure that this stops. < Previous Article Next Article >
