During the congress, Mr. Henry Geldenhuys (previous deputy-president) was elected as the new president of TLU SA. “It is an honour and highlight for me, but TLU SA is the priority,” he says. “Together, we will take TLU SA to new heights.” The congress elected Mr. Wannie Scribante (previous manager of the central region) as the new deputy president.

SANParks free access week coming soon

Every year SANParks aims to increase the number of locals that are granted free access to national parks during this time. Since the programme’s inception in 2006, 551 393 South Africans have been afforded the opportunity to enter national parks. SANParks has highlighted the growing need for national parks to be relevant, particularly to young people and communities living adjacent to parks.

Eskom discourages building near power lines

Eskom staff needs to remove or replace pieces of equipment when they maintain these lines, and these pieces of equipment, which are often heavy, could fall on the dwellings or people below the line. Eskom uses various types of heavy machinery to maintain its power lines, which require enough space to access the structure.

Bethal hospital urgently needs direct power line

AFPO threatens full shutdown

15 September 2020

AFPO has warned that it will intensify its action should government fail to meet its demands. The Department of Health said that it tried at several meetings last month to resolve the dispute, and that the National Funeral Practitioners Association of South Africa was the only organization that had informed them of the strike.

Amendment - IAE of continuous ashing at Tutuka Power Station

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd obtained an Integrated Environmental Authorisation (IEA) for the proposed extension of Ash Disposal Facility for Tutuka Power Station, Mpumalanga Province, dated 19 October 2015. An application to amend the validity of the IEA was submitted to DEFF on 22 July 2020.

Na die beste inligting beskikbaar is daar ongeveer 670 000 ou groen lisensies wat nog geldig kan wees. SA Jagters dink nie dit is haalbaar om die huidige amnestie te gebruik om hierdie wapens in te handig en vir nuwe lisensies aansoek te doen nie.
