The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Mondli Zuma, is perturbed by incidences where gun taunting individuals often fire shots randomly at funerals. Another incident recently took place over the weekend.

Alleged cable thief sustains severe flash injuries

According to the statement, MLM had also replaced an approximate 10 kiosks that burnt since January 2019. Some of the kiosks and mini substations doors were / are removed/ stolen by the community members. MLM also stated that it has lost R4 million from November 2018 to October 2019, due to cable theft. According to the municipality, the expenditures derails the maintenance process, hence the shoddy state of the substations and kiosks within its area of governance.

Educators arrested for alleged corporal punishment

Masizakhe Secondary School students protested against corporal punishment recently, in light of numerous learners that have allegedly received corporal punishment. It is alleged that the students were reprimanded for refusing to attend extra classes spanning over the course of weekends. The educators have been charged with misconduct, and will have to explain their actions before a departmental disciplinary hearing.

EFF pickets at Clicks Ermelo

Three men nabbed on kidnapping, murder and assault charges

The victim later succumbed to his injuries in hospital on 1 September 2020. The second victim survived the attack. Preliminary investigations has since revealed that, amongst the men fingered in the whole saga, one is employed as manager at a local chain store. The other two suspects were found to be an assistant and a security guard.

A delivery driver was threatened by 3 males, one of which was armed, and told they wanted to rob him. The driver managed to get to the safety of ACSU’s client, who in turn pressed the panic button. ACSU escorted the delivery vehicle to all further deliveries, and then safely to Bethal on the N17.

Carolina man sentenced to life behind bars for rape

According to Sgt Mokwana, the child told the teacher that she and her older sister was sexually abused by their father, and the school reported the case to the police. Sgt Gloria Zulu, Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offenses Unit (FCS) member interviewed the children’s mother after the father was arrested, and discovered that the mother knew that her husband was sexually abusing the children, but failed to report the matter to the police.
