AfriForum patches roads in Bethal

AfriForum is back in action in Bethal as lockdown restrictions ease, and Hennie Bekker, District Coordinator stated that they are hoping to fill another 300 potholes with a new latex tar mixture, which is said to be just as effective as the normal cold premix. Work done would not have been possible without the financial assistance from the community and business association, and sadly many roads in Bethal needs to be resurfaced.

“We had to make a decision on which roads need to be maintained and patched up as soon as possible, unfortunately not all the roads can be repaired. We can’t maintain all the roads, it is impossible, and funding is also a problem. We try to patch as many holes as possible, but there is just no way that some can again be repaired, because the roads are in poor condition,” Bekker stated. According to him, roads maintenance is a massive issue due to the heavy motor vehicles that continuously traverse the CBD and residential area.
